COMPLEMENT OF BOATS

LONDON, June 11. Mr Carlisle stated that he showed the White Star Company his plans providing for more boats on the Titanic. It rested with the company to decide the matter. He signed the report of the advisory committee of the Board of Trade, recommending fewer boats than the Titanic carried. He admitted that it was difficult to explain why he signed it, as he did not approve of the number. Mr Havelock Wilson also signed it, though he did not approve of the report.

The Cunard Company has been refused recompense for picking up the Titanic's survivors.

The White Star Company has presented gifts ranging from 100 guineas to the captain to a month's pay to the crew.
