GENERAL REVISION PROPOSED

BY TELEGRAPH-PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, June 7. The Minister for Railways informed a deputation from the sawmillers to-day that a general revision of railway1 freights is proposed. He intended to isk his officers to make a report upon the matter. Regarding the ' measurement of timber, Mr Myers said that the Department desired to be paid only for what it carried, and he had already nskecl the general manager and the North Island traffic superintendent to investigate the matter, with a view to devising a satisfactory arrangement.
