CRICKET

The question of sending a team to Australia was thoroughly discussed at a receat meeting of the Otago Association. After a very full discussion it was decided that the association, while in favor of sending a team to Australia, considers it advisable to defer for another year, and in the meantime recommends the council to invite a team from Australia to New Zealand next season. The great triangular scheme has at last begun, and got partly on the way to the test matches between England, Australia and South Africa. Faulkner, the South African who was so brilliant in Australia has not yet | struck form. The other prominent players seam to be doing pretty well. The team is expected to prove worthy of their opponents' steel. S. Gregory, the veteran who leads the I present Australian team|. has scored consistently so far, and Macartney seems to have struck his old form. They made a great stand against Northamptonshire.
