CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FORMED/
[FROM OUE OWN COEEEaPONDENI.3 A well-attended meeting of, the business men of the town was held, last night to consider the matter, of forming, a Chamber of Commerce.. Mr E. Parrott was voted to the, chair.,, and Mr G. H. Buckeridge. was appointed acting-secretary. Mr Buckehdge read the rules of th©; Hawera and Stratford Chambers. o>& Commerce. On the motion of Mr Burd&kjh,, seconded by Mr Burrows, it was. resolved! to form a Chamber of Commer.ee, to. be tailed the Eltham Chamber- of Commerce. The folio iving > were elected of liters: President, Mr E. Parrott; vice-presi-dent. Mr H. Rouhfort; secretary and treasurer. Mr J. L. Weir; executive committee, Messrs H. G. Carman, G. H. Buckeridge, L. Hill, J. McVeagh, E. C. Goldstone, W. D. Ross, and D. Syme. It was resolved that the subscription .should be 10s 6d annually, and that the executive should, take the matter of framing rules in hand and submit the' result to next meeting. Tho meeting concluded with a vote of i thanks to the chairman.
