A STRANGE AFFAIR.

A sum of £300 belonging to 'the Railway Department, while being sent from one of. the small stations between Ohakune and Taumarunui for banking purposes, disappeared. The cash and cheques were an a box. which, on arrival at Taunrarunui was found to "be empty. The affair is a complete ravstery. . '
