- SYDNEY AND MELBOURNE RECOMMENDATIONS. *V CABLE-PRESB ASSOCIATION—COPIBIGHX (Received May 16, 1.30 p.m.) ■ SYDNEY, May 16. The Presbyterian Assembly has concluded its deliberations on the question of the union of churches, and an amendment disapproving the •clauses regarding the appointment of ministers. The Assembly decided to •forward the amendment to the General Assembly of Australia without committing itself to a scheme of policy as a whole. '■
MELBOURNE, May 16. The Presbyterian Assembly agreed to .urge the Union of Churches Committee to allow the scheme of settlement in, and tenure of, pastoral office at present in operation in the Presbyterian Church to remain, as an alternative to the scheme embodied in the proposals.
