"THE NORWOODS."

The Taranaki Herald, in describing the entertainment given by the Norwoods at the Theatre Royal, New ~PH .mouth, said: "The audience was intensely interested, and at the same time greatly amused, the antics of the hypnotised subjects causing roars of laughter. It was irresistible. There were about a dozen subjects on the stage, several being local youths who were members of the audience, and the remainder were members of his own company. Aided by these, he showed how subjects when imder the influence of hypnotic suggestion can be made to perform all manner of tricks which would be impossible for them when in their ordinary senses, or go through antics that they would not be parties to under any consideration were they not under the -influence. Humorous as all this was, however, perhaps the most enjoyable incidents occurred when the subjects were brought round, it vr&s an entertainment in itself to observe their astonishment when they found themselves attired as Spanish dancing girls, or playing the parts of members of an orchestra, their instruments consisting of brooms and so forth. At the close of the entertainment Miss Norwood and Professor Norwood were greeted with a spontaneous outburst of applause."

The box plan for Hawera is now open at Hole and Donnelly's, and is rapidly filling. ,
