THE NORWOODS

Of the Norwoods, who appear at the Opera House for a three-nights season-, commencing on "Wednesday next, May 15, the New Zealand Times says: "Fewpeople realised what uproarious mirth could be occasioned by hypnotic suggestion till they had seen the Norwoods, at tJ»e Opera House. A dozen male members of the audience are invited ta sit on the stase, and in as many minutes they do the bidding of the hypnotist* -dance in a manner that surprises their 'friends, extract music out of brooms, link their finders so thnt they cannot pull their hands apart, believe themselves Soanish maidens, make np> their toilets before imaginary mirrors T pose and cuvtsev, and do other ludicrous things till t«e bouse rocks with laughter. Miss Winifred Norwood gave a surprising exhibition of thought-read'-injr, and in each case did what, was required without t^e utterance of a singer word. Some of the tests were of considerably difficulty; in one case the ir-itia! 5? had to be cut from the corner of a handkerchief with a knife in a different no^ket, and the detached corner placed in the hand of the owner."
