. DUNEDIN, May 9. Ihe Prune Minister this morning received a deputation from the Catlins ailwaj League asking that a sufficient sum be placed on the Estimates to complete the line 5 * within a year. Mr Mackenzie said he did not think it possible in view of the opinion expressed by thecountry against the great borrowing that had taken place. Rightly or wrongly, people were against borrowing, and if lessened borrowing occurred in future, this line could only get its share.
