(Received May 8, 12.15 p.m.) a. m- LONDON. May 7. At the Titanic enquiry Beecham, a hreman, stated that when the ship struck,, the order was given to stop the engines and stand by. The watertight doors were closed within five minute^, and the fires were drawn. His boat did not contain'a compass, lamp, Water or provisions.
