The Supreme Court criminal sessions opened to-day before Judge Chapman, who in his charge to the Grand Judy, remarked that the calendar was the shortest in his experience in Wellington. His Honor called special attention to the case of Richard Bagge, -committed from Masterton hy justices on a charge of stealing a horse and
«art. "No case," said the Judge, "was made out for his committal/ The prosecutor said he sold the accused the horse and cart, his grievance apparently bein* that he did not receive his money. At xhe worst that was a case
of a man running away without paying & debt. The sale took place in 1903. If * -the evidence was as indicated the 'jury would see that no case of stealing had Sbeen made out.
