The second of a series of socials in. aid of the court fund was held on Wednesday evening, and proved- most enjoyable. The floor and supper were as usua, excellent; whilst tne music! as supplied by Mr Kirk, gave satisfaction. Messrs H. Crocker ana RMclvoy made efficient M.C's. SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL. The contractors (Messrs Jones and Sons) have made a' start - with the foundations for the memorial in the Park, and, given fine weather, will have the worn completed well in time tor the unveiling on the 29th.
