New Zealand's imports during the quarter ended March 31st amounted to £'5,517,689 in value, an increase of £940,355 compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The imports at the principal ports were as follows: Wellington, £1,514,----35 8; Auckland, £1,498,711; Lyttelton, £877,266; Dunedin, £748,040; Napier, £131,225; Timaru, £127,468; Invercargill, £198,404; Wanganui, £81,589; Poverty Bay, £52,053; Nelson, £43,----056; Greymouth, £36,045.
The exports during the same period amounted in value to £8,228,993, being £4494 less in value than the corresponding quarter of 1911, when specie to. the value of £20,896 was sent away. "Last quarter's specie export was valued at £5400.
