PERSIA'S PLIGHT.
■■•-.-" I LAND OF CHAOS AND ANARCHY.,
RUSSIAN DREAM NEAR FULFILMENT. '
VIENNA, Jan. 27
Mr Morgan Shust-er, the Amsrican gentleman who lately caused so much trouble in Persia, is now in Vienna. In an interview to-day he delivered himself of a strong condemnation of the attitude taken > up' by the European Powers during the late Persian crisis.
"The net result'of British and Russian action in Persia," declared Mr Shuster, "renders a natidii; that was making progress in peace, and was building up its finances for the establishment of constitutional government, a land of chaos and anarchy, without prestige among its own people. In addition it meant the sacrifice of hundreds of lives.
"Great Britain and Russia, far from being on a more solid basis of friendship, are now only face to face on opposite sides of a disorganised territory. "Russian forces and influence are gradually advancing southward, and unless there is a break the dream of a? war port will be a matter of; only a few years. ' ' . "The more regrettable feature of Persia's dismemberment is the-fact that it might have been prevented had Great Britain frankly objected at the beginning to Russia's violation of the AngloRussian agreement." .
