Dawson Falls Mountain House was visited by a large number of people on Sunday. A party of nine, leaving the house at 5 a.m., made a successful ascent of the. top and crossed over the crater to the trig-station, which is still covered with snow. The members of the party were: Miss Hickey (Kaupokonui), Miss Aitken (Stratford), Messrs John, William, and Eric Marx and J. Thomason (Manga told), T. Baxter (El-'tha-u). Messrs Campbell, Jackson, and X. Fulton fStratford). party are quite agreed that it is much easier and faster to travel on the snow than on the loose scoria.
