PARIS, Jan. 19. (Received Jan. 20, 10.10 a.m.) A Italian officer boarded the French steamer Carthage', bound for Tunis, and ordered tho captain to immediately destroy Luval's aeroplane1. The captain refused, and the Italians then demanded the Tripolitan mailbag. This was also refused, and thereupon.the Carthage was seized.

The French mail steamer' Manouba, bound for Tunis and Havre, has taken her to Cagliari. .

The steamer Schleswig, which was accompanying the Manouba, was merely * searched and then released.
