A STRUGGLE WITH THE POLICE
WANGANUI, Nov. 28. A man was arrested to-night for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Two constables had a hard struggle with him. On arrival at the station the man was found to have broken a leg above the ankle, and was taken to the hospital.
EKETAHUNA, Nov. 29. A poll of ratepayers yesterday carried a proposal to raise £13,000 for watermpply and fire-prevention purposes hy 107 votes to 56.
