WHARF THEFTS.
AUCKLAND, Aug. 18
. Ehrman was committed for trial today on further charges arising out of the wharf thefts, bail being refused. Ehrman made a voluntary statement through his solicitor that Mr Glover, M.P., was not in any way connected in the matters with which he (Ehrman) was charged. The detective who arrested Ehrman after his escape from custody a£ Te Kuiti said that Ehrman said: "There will be something sensational out of this. I am not going to take all the blame. My wife has £1600 worth of property. I have a good mind to commit suicide.
