A committee meeting of the Egmont Racing Club was held on Satxirday night, Mr R. N. Nolan presiding. Mr Nolan was elected chairman for the ensuing year. Mr W. H. Hartgill was appointed judge and clerk of scales, Mr C. O'Connor starter, Mr T. Sutherland clerk of the course, and Mr G. H. Gibson timekeeper. Messrs A. Good and O. Williams were elected a course committee. Mr W. A. Quin was appointed auditor. It was decided to paint the grand stand and officials' buildings, 'r matter was left in the hands of the course committee. Mr J. E. Roe, architect, is to draw up specifications. Mr G. Williams, Patea, wrote resigning membership. The Waimate Plains Trotting Club forwarded cheque for £15 for !use of course for their meeting. It was decided to refund the club £10, g,s this was their initial meeting in Hawera.
