PERSONAL ITEMS.
Captain Robinson, organising officer of senior cadets, was an official visitor to -Hawera on Friday. Mr T. Gomer, who for many yearswas engaged in the Railway Department :nere, but is now stationed at Greymouth, is at present on a visit to Fawera. The Acting Prime Minister (Sir Jas. Carroll) received on Friday night the following cablegram from Sir Joseph Ward, Bart., despatched that day from Marseilles: "Just leaving by the Rua* pehu for Port Said. All well "
