PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr R. J. Eames, who was for some years associated with the Star, has joined the staff of the New Zealand farmer as sub-editor.
Mr H. Rochfort, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Eltham, has left for Wellington. Mr Rochfort has been appointed inspector temporarily, Mrv\. Cook, of Ashburton, is occupying the position of manager during Mr Roehfort's absence.
Mr J. Nichol, a popular and valued member of the clerical staff at Hawera'. railway station, has resigned from the service in order to take up a position in the office of Messrs Gillies and Nalder. Mr Nichol has beeen in the • Railway Department for eleven years,., seven of which have been spent in Hawera.
