CORRESPONDENCE.

THE KING'S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY. (To the Editor.) v Sir,—-Surely there is some mistake re the notice of the Tradesmen's Association declaring-Monday next as the.day to be observed as a holiday, in lieu of Saturday, which is the Sovereign's birthday. The Act of last year distinctly says that where any of these special days falls on a Sunday they shall be observed on the Monday following. But the notice of last night moves the day from Saturday to Monday. Anyway, sir, I would like to know who has. the power to authorise holidays—the Mayor or the Tradesmen's Association?—l am, etc., L. O. HOOKER.
