In the Hound sditch case the police admitted that Gardstein on November 19 signed, as Mourin, a receipt for £31 paid in pursuance of a telegram from Russia. Counsel for the defence criticised the police for withholding the fact until now. The. Superintendent replied that he did not consider the matter material.
