WELLINGTON, Jan. 30

Dr Findlay, Minister of Justice, stated to-day that a good deal of pressure was being brought to bear on him .to submit proposals to the Government that in future all statutes, except those >of which operation was urgently needed at once, snould not come into force vearlier than March 1. The reason was tiiitc the legal profession and public .snould nave a fan- opportunity to study tne new laws before tney took effect. 'lac Minister expressed sympathy with tins request, ana said he was carefully .considering the matter with the view to cringing it before the Government. .No action could be taken in regard to statutes .of last session.
