NORMANBY.
U?BO1T OUB OWN COEBESPONDENT.]
I regret having to record that our local poultry fancier, Mr D. A. Stewart, is seriously iU suffering from a severe attack of influenza and other complications. His many friends will be glad to hear of his speedy recovery Mr and Mrs A. B. Stewart and family are spending a short holiday at the Mokoia Beach. Mr Stewart is looking remarkably well after his trip to the Old Country. On Friday a fatigue party of the Scouts, under Scoutmaster Holmes^ attended at the club rooms for the purpose of cleaning and scrubbing. The boys made a really good job of the rooms and were quite proficient in the use of the scrubbing brush and floor cloth. On second thoughts perhaps I had better not be too lavish with my praise or their mothers will be setting them to work ;at home.' Waat would you say to that, boys? The following boys have passed their examination as first-class Scouts — L, Stoddart, G Stoddart, C. Paine, R. Garden, B. Stoddart, R. Craig, A.. Mitchell, G. Loretz. Second class—K'. Mitchell, W. Bevan, H. Higgs, P. Kemp, R. Bell.
Potato blight is very prevalent in the district, bnt so far doas not appear to have affected the tubers very badly. "Mangolds are on some farms showing signs of blight, otherwise there* are some good crops.
