SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. BY CABLE— PEESS ASSOCIATION— COPYEIGHT. (Received Dec. 29, 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 29. Doctor Brochard, French Commissioner at Wallis Island, i 3 visiting Sydney. He states that the Roman priestsi will probably be expelled from the island. He added that the natives some time ago ordered the priests, five in , number, to leave. They took no notice. Imported rifles and ammunition have been distributed among friendly natives. They deposed the king and appointed a king of their own choice. The priests have been getting m»st of the money for copra and the natives are doing all the work. The priests made the natives build houses and churches without pay. Doctor Brochard intends placing the matter before the authorities at Noumea.
