They received a mixed reception at several collieries. . The atrikers also demand a conference to consider a general strike, THE BOILERMAKERS. LONDON, Nov. 2. A red circular accompanying the boilermakers' ballot-paper shows that the balance to the credit of the general fund is £6790, and adds that it is clear that, whatever the result of the ldck-out, the benefits cannot be -continued. ADELAIDE, Nov. 2. All the moulders and boilermakers in the employ of the Martin Company at Gawler are locked out, and only the office and stores staffs are kept on. Various unions are meeting with a view to forming a general committee to take charge of affairs. STRAW HAT MAKERS OUT.. ADELAIDE, Nov. 2. Over fifty straw hat makers, employed by the Good, Durant Company, have struck over the dismissal of BrooEes, one of the employees, and the firm's determination to stand by two girls who refuse to join the union.
