STRATFORD WOOL, SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. Young, Hobbs and Co.'s report: — On Tuesday, 25th ult., we held our fourweekly sale of above produce, there being a representative attendance of buyers. The catalogue comprised 185 hides, 568 calfskins, 293 sheepskins, 19 bags wool, 6 tins and 1 bag tallow, and the usual assortment of hair, tails, etc. Hides: Butchers' ox advanced Id per lb, do. cow id per lb, settlers' cow declined |d, do. yearling advanced id. We quote: Butchers' ox 6£d, 7^d, 7 5-Bd, cow 6d, 6£d, 6jd, 6 5-Bd, 6£d; settlers' cow, Sid, 5 3-Bd, s£d, 5Jd; cut 3id, shppy 4|d, part dry 6d, dry s£d, yearling 4|d, 4§d, s|d, slippy 4ld, cut 3|d. Calfskins : Best lines declined id to Id per lb, except small dirties, which advanced 5-Bd. We quote: Medium 9d, small 8 3-Bd, large dirty 8 5-Bd, medium dirty Bd, smal 1 dirty Bd, cut s£d, cut and slippy Id, part dry/ Is lOd each. Sheepskins: Best lines declined id to h' per lb. We quote: Butchers' medium wools 6s 4d, 6s 9d, 7s Bd, part green 5s 9rl, 6s lid, slightly damaged 6s 3d, long wools 10s 3d, lamb pelts Is sd; settlers' long wools damaged 5s 6d. medium wools 3s lOd, 4s 6d, 5s 4d, 6s 2d, 6s 4d, half wools 2s 7d, 3s 7d, 3s lOd, 4s Id ; damaged 2s 3d, 3s Id, pelts Is 4d, 3s Id, damaged lOd, lamb pelts lOd, half wools part green 4s 2d, do medium wools 6s. Wools : Values all round on a part with those ruling last month. We quote: Fleece 7£d, crutch s£d, dead 5d to 7|d, pieces (scoured) 7d. Tallow : Market very animated. An advance of 30s to £2 per ton. We quote ; Bags and tins 24s 3d to 26s 3d. Since the sale we have disposed of 7 casks first class quality tallow at 29s 6d per cowt. Horsehair: Is 4d per lb (small quantity).
