THE ALL-RED CABLE.
CABLE COMBINE DENIED. BY CABLE— PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Oct. 30, Statements that recent negotiations of the Atlantic cable companies indicated the formation of a combine are denied in America. It is alleged that they were only seeking to make service improvements. The "pooling" story will be used as a peg to urge an Imperial Atlantic cable. Mr Baxendale, in an interview, declared that he was unable to discuss the possibility of a cable trust. He did not see, in the present circumstances, how a new cable could be constructed, but with, the removal of certain difficulties such a cable might be advantageous, in preventing artificially engineered cable tariffs.
