A RIFLEMAN'S DISQUALIFICATION BY CABLE— PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. MELBOURNE, Oct. 28, The executive of the National Rifle Association held 'an enquiry into tne shooting for the Bang's Prize, and disqualified W. J. Piggott, and awarded the prize to C. Morris, of Goulburn. A.. Brooks, of the Parramatta Club, was second. It is stated that Piggott admitted that he did not shoot at the thousand yards range, and that his card was a bogus one, with the signature of the registrar forged.^ It is understood that further action is pending. CHASING A ROBBER. MELBOURNE, Oct. 28. A man who was being chased by the pdlice in connection with a jewellery theft entered a dwelling and annexed a' waistcoat wherewith to replace a white one he ,was wearing. He entered two other "laces, and fruitlessly offered money to the inmates to hide him. He finally escaped pursuit. He thoughtfully removed a gold watch and chain from the pocket of the waistcoat before annexing it, but abandoned his overcoat, containing five pounds in cash. A DERAILMENT. TOOWOOMBA, Oct. 28.
