LORD KITCHENER ON AUSTRALIAN CITIES.

LONDON, Oct. 15. Lord Kitchener, presiding at the Tcwn Planning Conference, referred to the wonderful construction of Khartoum. Much would be heard, he said, of Australia's Federal capital. He had visited the splendid cities of Sydney and Melbourne and rather regretted it was necessary to find another abode for the Commonwealth Parliament, which had made a capital start with great advantages. He hoped the Commonwealth would afford an example of the principles which the conference was advocating. Mr Sulman, of Sydney, read a paper on Australia's capital.
