Mr Meuli has taken the matter up and been round with a subscription list. He has already obtained over £20 for the purpose. It is estimated that the job will cost between £50 and £60 to raise the tower and make it secure again. It is to oe hoped that the required sum -will be raised, and this old landmark be once more erected. On Saturday next a putting competition for the ladies of the Golf <Jlub will take place on the local links, ior Mr Bennett's trophy.
