KAKARAMEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Un Friday evening there was a large attendance at the Social Club, for it was the final game for tho points prize. After a most interesting competition the winners turned out to be Mrs Butler and Mr D. Hurley, who had won consistently during the last two months. In the unavoidable absence of the secretary the prizes were presented by Mr W Fairweather. who thanked. Mrs Butler for her donation of the ladies' prize. The winners for the evening were Mr Ryan and Miss Hogan. A bountiful supper was provided, after which dancing was indulged in. . A most interesting match is being arranged for next Friday, when teams from Kakaramea and Patea will compete against teams from Hurleyville and Alton Prizes to the winnors of the highest number of games will also be given. Rink skating began on Thursday night. , . , ~ lour correspondent is sorry to hear ot the death of Mr S. Gould, of Hurleyville. A familiar figure will be missed from the roads, but poor old Sam, generous almost to a fault, will be remembered for long in this district, as one of its pioneers, he having lived in Hurleyville for many years. My sympathy is given to the bereaved family.
