Wade, K.C., Premier, * replying to a deputation representing T the principal industries of the State requesting the duplication of the main \ trunk line and the construction of cross country lines, said the Government proposed to carry out without delay all the *■ more urgent dupMcations on the three * trunk lines. Steps were also being taken * to improve the railway facilities across * country. It would be necessary to raise a special loan for the purpose, and it would be dissociated from the ordinary loan policy.
