PALMERSTON N., April 13. Fine weather prevails for the fir&t day of the Manawatu Autumn Meeting, but there is a high wind blowing. Tho attendance promises to be above tho average of previous years. Linton Hack Hurdles — Nightmare 1, Himitangi 2, Pikopo 3. Scratched: Longner. Won easily by several lengths ; four lengths between second and third. Karero Welter — Emblem 1, Leolanter 2, Moree 3. Scratched: Captain Bell, Magneto, Liquid Air, Brilliancy, Waxy, San Lass, Voca. Won by a length and a half;, half a length between second and third. Time, 1.18 3-5.
