ALLEGED ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

WELLINGTON, April 12. A case of alleged attempted suicide occurred at 1 Newtowxi last night. James Ford, of Riddiford street, said to be am employee of the City Council, was found by his wife on her return about 11.15 lying on the bed with his throat cut. He was removed to hospital where, as far as can be learned, he has a good chance of recovery. Fqrd is about 50 years of age. He had been in Sputh Africa, and suffered there from enteric fever, from the aftereffects of which it is believed he had not recovered.
