A plain and fancy dress ball was held in the barn kindly lent by Mr Duffelf *on Friday night. Although the weathe,r was very wet, there were over 3b oouples present, and the dance proved to be a great success.' There "a i grand display of dressos. Some of them | were sis follows : — Misses H. Batten (Witch), M. Holder. (Spring), T. Gould (School Girl), A. Gould (Flower Girl), I. Williams (Summer), E. Williams .(Pierrot), K. Laurent (Queen of Hearts), Graham (Moonlight), V. Laurent (Ivy), Oliver (Sign of the Cross), V. Young (Pierrot), M. Exley (Hockey), V. Oliver (Fashions), E. Hurley (Waitress). Gentlemen: Messrs C. Bowman (Jack Tar), W. Laurent (Neapolitan Fisherman), Stark (Nigger), C. Laurent (Fireman), C. Langdon (Two Face). The music was supplied by Mr Hodgers, and was all that could be desired. The Ms.C. were Messrs S. Williams and A. Langdon, and they fulfilled their duties in a most efßcient manner.
