For the second day of the winter meeting the going was heavy and the attendance good. The sum of £13,555 passed through the totalisator against £12,923 for the corresponding day last' year. Bookmakers contributed £190 in fees. Results: —

Glasgow Handicap — St. Bill 1, Sweet Angelus 2, Penates 3. Scratched : Wimmera, Inchbonnie. Won by three lengths. Time. 1.10.

Karori Handicap — Miscast 1. Thetis 2, Timothy 3. Scratched: Hilarian, Vinco, Rawera. Won by a length and a half. Time, 1.27.

Victoria Hurdles Handicap — Tauira 1, Waione 2% Auratus 3. Scratched: Rendrock, Silken Rein, and Flint Gun. Won by three lengths. Time, 3.8.

Wellington Steeplechase — Tearia 1, Irish 2, Nadador 3. Irish, Wanganui, and Lingerer were prominent for two miles, where Tearia and Capitol went to the front. The latter fell at the second fence from home when second. Tearia won by four lengths ; ten lengths between second and third ; Mocassin fourth. Scratched: Le Beau. Time, 7.21. Waterloo Cvp — Wiinmera 1, Dawn 2, Sir Frisco 3. Also started: San Fernando, Kurawaka. Wimniera led throughout and won by a clear length, the third two lengths away. Time, 1.42 2-5. Jumpers' Flat Handicap — Scotty 1, Compass 2, Belario 3. Also started: Ben Jonson, Exmoor, Stayboy, Silken Rein, Southern Cross, Rangihaeta, Moscow and Yosami. Won by six lengths. Time, 3.3 3-5.

Thorndon Handicap — Te Ru 1, Purakau 2, Inchbonny 3. Also started: Axite, Waiata, Royal Maid, Notorious, Merry Christmas, Glenfield. Won by a length. Time, 1.11 2-5.
