UNITED STATES TARIFF.
LONDON, July 21.
The American tariff does not seriously affect Britain, except coi-tain cotton-silk manufactures), steal and some chemicals. Satisfaction is expressed in England that a stop has bean put to the! ingenious methods practised by Gernian, Dutch and Japanese firms, to the detriment of British firms, by under-valuing goods, especially earthenware. It is understood that France and Germany will be subject to the maximum tariff.
