TOWN BOARD

(From Our Own Co^resDondent.) The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Monday evening; present — Commissioners McKoy (chair), Handle?, Free and Epping. • A letter was received from the Kaponga Town Board asking what steps the^Board intended to take respecting the reduction in publicans' licenses. — Proposed by Commissioner McKoy, "That this Board is in entire sympathy with the Kaponga Board, and suggests that united action be taken by all ihe Boards concerned." This was seconded by Commissioner Free and carried. Permission was granted to Mr J. Coutts to erect guard fence on Atkinson street. Commissioner McKoy moved, "Inat the Clerk write to Duthie and Co. respecting the price of new burners for the electric light in the Town Hall. Seconded by Commissioner Epping and carried.

Re leasing the Cemetery Reserve, Commissioners Epping and Free were authorisd to make arrangements with the prese?it tenant, Mr Riddle. The Clerk was instructed to ascertain the cost in connection with the last set of by-laws and 'to submit them at the next meeting, as it was the intention of the Board to have the same revised owing to there being nothing in the present by-laws dealing with heavy traffic.
