HORSE SALE.
-Gillies and Nalder report that there was a very* heavy entry . of horses for "* their monthly sale on Saturday, 29th May, 127 horses being yarded. Although the sale was started half-an»hour earlier than usual and was as brisk as possible the light failed before the lasi 20 horses could be offered. The firm Wave to express their regret to those owners who entered their horses late. A large number of horses' were sold. There were three outside buyers present and several trucks left the district. The auctioneers add: — "We are sorry to state that although there was a- demand for horses, prices could not be considered an improvement on late sales."
Ts-day (Whit Monday) the banks in jtawera were closed. James and Gillman have a replace advertisement in this issue to which attention is directed. "West's" brought their Hawera season to a close on Saturday night when there was a good attendance. An entirely new scries was shown including some splendid scenic pictures.
