OVERSEER'S REPORT

Mr F. Archer reported as follows: — "Tenders have been called for supply and delivery of boulders for maintenance, and crushed metal for Manaia and Upper Normanby roads. The Taikatu road contract will soon be completed. I recommend that the Lower Normanby road be completed with shingle from Kaupokonui river, as the pit formerly in use is run out. I suggest that the Town Board be approached at their next meeting for permission to take gravel from the Cemetery pit. I estimate cost of supply and delivery of 550 yards of gravel for repairs on Omuturangi road at 4s 3d per yard. I consider that the price paid for "breaking Mangawhero stone should be the same as for Kaupokonui stone. Last year 4s was paid for Kaupokonui and 3s 6d for all other."

Cr Bridge moved the adoption of the -. report with the exception of the question of the road metal. He suggested that 3s 6d per yard be offered for Otakeho stone and 3s 9d for Mangawhero and Kaupokonui. — Seconded by Cr Cassidy and carried.

It was resolved to leave the matter of Lower and Middle Normanby roads in the hands of the Chairman and Overseer.

Cr Bridge moved that a general rate of f d in the £ be struck in the Waimate and Kaupokonui ridings, in terms of a previous notice of motion. — This was carried. /
