OLYMPIA SKATING RINK.

Owing to the Volunteers' fortnightly drill the rink will be 1 closed this evening. "Wednesday, being a pxiblic holiday, it will open in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Considerable progress in the art of roller skating is being made by most of the habitues of the rink, ladies especially being noticeable for the graceful manner 1 in which some of them glide around unattended by the instructor or friends. We learn that as soon as patrons become more expert hockey on skates will be practised prior to a match being played, and later on carnivals and other amusements will be introduced.
