LONDON, May 21. In the Jlous« of Lords, the Duke of Marlborough initiated the fiscal debate*. Lord Cromer emphasised what he described as the "absurd, intolerable and minute classification of the Australian tariff/ He complained that there was a prospect of only slight changes in colonial protective- tariffs'. He urged the Motherland to leave well alone.
