CHRISTCHURCH, December 2.

The Northern members of the subAntarctic expedition arrived in. Christ-church'to-night, and are unanimously of opinion tbat the scientific results are entirely satisfactory. They took a , large number. of photographs of' the islands dealing with- plant < and animal life, also views of the islands, but it is '-feared that the adverse weather conditions -which prevailed will considerably affect the plates and they will turn out badly. Dr. Cockayne proceeds to Wellington tomorrow, en route for Kapitd Island, where he will liberate a .number of birds captured on the southern, islands.
