TRADE CONVENTIONS.
LONDON, December 2.
Mr Hevins, Secretary of Ibe Tariff Commission, states that the FrancoC&nadian Comention materially reduces the margin of British preference. If other Continental countries were given the benefit of an intermediate tariff British trade in the Canadian market would be subjected to far more strenuous competition than at present.
