THE RUSSIAN DUMA.
NOT A PERSONAL REMARK
APOLOGY MADE TO M. STOLYPIN.
[press association.] ST. PETERSBURG, December 2
M. Roditcheff privately explained to M. Stolypin that his remark, that the hangman's noose would in future be known as Stolypin' s neckerchief, was not intended to be personal. He hoped the House would believe his sincerest regrets. M. Stolypin replied, "I forgive you." At Homsakoff's instance, M. Roditcheff was excluded for a fortnight, only 96 of the Left opposing. The whole House, including a majority of the Cadets, cheered M. Stolypin during the sitting. The Extreme Right promised to support the new regime and respect the Duma.
