Tbe net income was equal to 5.15 per cent of the capital cost. The Government wouM reintroduoe the progressive land tax, and! intended to 6pend £100,000 on works out of revenue. During the year ending June .next, the Treasurer estimated' 'he would have paid in redemption, of loains>, or in construction works out of revenue, the sum of, £980,000, exclusive of the stmplus which was expected at /that date. A prominent fea1 ture of the Budget was the establishment of a minimum wage of 7s per day for } all manual laborers ian the employ of the State.
