LPRESS ASSOCIATION.!
(Received March- 21, 10 a.m.). LONDON, March 20. *
: The Duke of Dovonsihire, addressing the Unionist Fredaade Club, said' the Colonial Conference was safer in the lands of the Liberals than in those of the Unionists, as rhe colonials could appieciate the clearly expressed policy of that party, and there would be no chanoe of the misunderstanding £here might have been if after three years' taxiffite agitation the colonies found they had been summoned here simply 'to negotiate on the basis of the existing duties, in which case they would have thought they had belen brought here on a foil's errand. In view of the grave constitutional questions impending he deplored' the increasing recklessness and anarchy in the Unionist ranks. The duty tv unite was clear, considering that the direct attack on the legislative union of Britain and Ireland was as dangerous cr more dangerous fban a direct attack.
