SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE
CHRISTCHURCH BUTCHERS BEING I PROSECUTED. * I [PRESS ASSOCIATION.! [ CHRISTCHURCH, March 5. In the Arbitration Court to-day, 130 slaughtermen of Islington and Belfast works were charged with a breach of section 15 of the Cojiciliaffcian Arbitration Act, n, clause designed to make strides aixa lock-outs illegal. The body of the Court was fitfetl with, ' the persons charged . ; Mr Stainger, Orown Prosecutor, represented the Labor Department, with Mr White, Grown Prosecutor at Timaru, assisting. Mr Dougall appeared for the slaughtermen. Mr Mackey, Secretary of ' the Labor Department, andi Mr Shannon, ' local officer were also present. i Mr Stringer said the men were divided ' into two groups-, one employed by the ChristcfauTch Meat Co., Belfast, and th« ', other by the Canterbury M«it Co., Isling- 1 ton, /but both cases could be taken together for convenience, as the evidence was the same. I
